The AWS Active Program for Startups – step by step in detail

I have been helping and working for several startups. In an AWS Community Builder webinar, I learned that AWS has an awesome program for startups called the AWS Activate Program. I have tried to write this article with my experience and collected information from AWS and the web. I hope this will help you!

What is the AWS Active Program:

AWS Activate is a program designed to help startups get started with AWS by providing resources and support to help them scale their businesses quickly. The program offers several tiers, each of which provides different levels of resources and support. In this blog post, I’ll walk you through the steps involved in the AWS Activate program.

Determine Eligibility

To be eligible for AWS Activate, startups must meet certain criteria, including:

Being a new company or a startup that is less than 5-10 years old

Having an annual revenue of less than $1 million USD

Being a member of a qualified accelerator, incubator, or venture capital firm

Select a Package

AWS Activate offers two different packages, depending on your startup’s needs:

Self-Starter Package: This package provides startups with access to the AWS Free Tier, which includes 12 months of free usage of various AWS services. It also includes AWS Support Basic and online training resources.

Portfolio Package: This package is designed for startups that need more resources to get started. It includes AWS credits, AWS Support Developer, and access to AWS Training.

Apply for the AWS Activate Program

To apply for AWS Activate, go to the AWS Activate website and click on the “Apply Now” button. Fill out the application form and provide information about your startup, including your business name, location, and industry. The tiers available are the Portfolio Package, the Portfolio Plus Package, and the Portfolio Select Package.

Provide Verification

Once you’ve completed the application, AWS will review it and may require additional verification. This may include submitting documentation such as a business plan, company registration, or financial statements.

Activate Your Benefits

Once your application has been approved, you can activate your benefits by logging into the AWS Management Console and redeeming your AWS credits. You can also access AWS training resources, including online courses and certification exams.

Access AWS Training and Support

AWS Activate provides startups with access to AWS training and support resources. This includes access to AWS Trusted Advisor, a service that provides recommendations to optimize your AWS infrastructure, and AWS Support, which provides technical support for AWS services.

Access to AWS Services and Solutions

AWS Activate also provides startups with access to AWS services and solutions. This includes access to AWS Marketplace, a platform that allows startups to find and purchase software and services from AWS partners.

Participate in AWS Events and Webinars

AWS Activate offers startups the opportunity to participate in AWS events and webinars. These events and webinars provide startups with valuable networking opportunities and access to the latest AWS innovations.

Engage with AWS Partners

The AWS Partner Network (APN) includes consulting partners, technology partners, and managed service providers. AWS Activate provides startups with access to these partners, who can provide additional support, including consulting, training, and technical expertise.

In conclusion, the AWS Activate program provides startups with valuable resources and support to help them scale their businesses quickly. The program offers several tiers, each of which provides different levels of resources and support, including access to AWS credits, training and support resources, access to AWS services and solutions, participation in AWS events and webinars, and engagement with AWS partners. By taking advantage of the AWS Activate program, startups can accelerate their growth and achieve their business goals.
