Joomla! 3 installation freezes at creating database table
After long time I try to install Joomla and it is Joomla 3.3.0 and face a problem as like you. All things are ok but its taking too much time during database table creation. And here is the solution
To solve this go to
Your joomla folder\installation\sql\mysql and open Joomla.sql file find the term
“ENGINE=InnoDB”
and replace ALL with
“ENGINE=MyIsam”
MyIsam is more supported and compatible with Joomla.
Do also the same with (sample_data.sql) file, if it’s quickstart setup.

Your advise is super and i had no trouble installing the joomla 3.3 and database went straight ahead no problem, bravo
one more problem i have is trying to install purity iii after installing JA T3 plugin 2.7.0 and enabling but trying to run the template error says not enabled. i have enabled, is it a similar error in joomla programs? please can you help

I tried with your solution but not getting it .
during installation , after filling details under “Main Configuration” and when click on Next , first of all it is taking long time , finally not loading “Database” section at all. I am new to Joomla
I am not getting what exactly the problem is..?
In the URL section it showing “localhost/Elata/installation/index.php#”
# means its an empty no page to navigate.
So please can you help me out ,, soon

A solution that worked for me without change the “ENGINE=InnoDB”
in the php.ini
max_execution_time = 180
or max_execution_time = 300 if not enough
Do you use InnoDB ENGINE? And thanks for alternative 😉
What i know is that i didn’t change anything in joomla files 🙂
